Manufacturing SMEs in Swindon, Wiltshire and across the South West are being encouraged to act now as the Made Smarter Adoption programme reopens for its 2026/27 intake.
Applications are now open, offering eligible manufacturers access to expert support, funded training and grants of up to £20,000 to help adopt new digital technologies and improve productivity.
Made Smarter is a nationally backed programme designed to help small and medium-sized manufacturing businesses become digitally ready. It supports companies to explore, adopt and scale technologies such as automation, data systems and advanced manufacturing tools, with the aim of strengthening operations and future‑proofing the sector.
What is Made Smarter?
Made Smarter supports manufacturing SMEs on their digital journey through a package of fully funded, practical support. This includes one‑to‑one advice from industry experts, leadership training and the opportunity to apply for capital grant funding towards new technology.
For businesses in Swindon and Wiltshire, the programme provides hands‑on help to identify digital challenges, assess opportunities and build a clear roadmap for improvement, tailored to the needs of each organisation.
