Wiltshire SMEs invited to help shape future organisational development and HR support

Wiltshire Council is inviting enterprises across the county to take part in a new survey designed to capture their current and emerging training needs. The findings will be used to refine and strengthen the Council’s organisational development (OD) and HR offer so it better reflects the challenges and opportunities facing local employers.

Strong OD and HR practice is increasingly recognised as a foundation for business resilience. For SMEs, it can mean clearer leadership, more stable teams, reduced recruitment costs, better performance management and a healthier workplace culture. When organisations invest in effective workforce development, particularly during periods of change or growth, they tend to see improved staff retention, higher productivity and more confidence in managing peoplerelated issues.

By gathering direct input from Wiltshire businesses, the Council aims to ensure its support offer is genuinely useful, practical and aligned with what employers say they need most, whether that’s leadership development, coaching, workforce planning, or specialist HR advice.

Wiltshire Council already provides a wide range of traded OD and HR services for organisations. The full outline of the current offer is available here.

The survey is an opportunity for Wiltshire businesses to influence how this support evolves over the coming year and help shape a service that works for the realities of running a business in Wiltshire. The more responses gathered, the more accurately the Council can tailor its services to match real workforce needs.

Local organisations are encouraged to take part and share the survey within their networks.
