The aim of our Engineering Employers Breakfast is to widen our engagement with engineers locally. We will be discussing the massive skills challenge in engineering, as well as discussing how we can help.
The skills gap in engineering is a constant challenge for businesses. With an estimated shortfall of 173,000 works, and 20% due to retire by 2026, it’s estimated there’s an annual shortfall of up to 59,000 workers.
That’s the bad news.
The good news is the New College Swindon and the Swindon and Wiltshire Institute of Technology want to help your business do something about it! We’re hosting a FREE breakfast to help you find out about all the options, from brand new recruits for apprenticeship programmes, to the wide range of options available to upskill your current workforce.
You can also see our cutting edge facilities including:
- Our Advanced Manufacturing suite with our XYZ CNC machines
- Festo robotics lab
- Our cutting edge welding and fabrication workshop
- Our metallic 3D printer and electronics workshop
- The metrology and testing centre
You can even try your hand at Virtual Welding and see where you place on the leaderboard.
We’ll be supplying a complimentary breakfast including tea, coffee and a selection of pastries.
If you have an apprentice at the moment, or someone who was an apprentice please bring them along!
